August 23 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

1:30-4pm, £5 per child, drop-in
Did you know Amersham Museum has a herb garden full of plants with magical powers? They were used to cure illnesses, beautify ladies, dye clothes and spice up food – some were even believed to keep away fairies! Many of these plants are are actually flowers that grow in the wild. Come to meet “Mrs Bloem”, a local wildflower enthusiast, and learn more about the pretty and strange wild plants in the Museum’s historical herb garden and how people used them in history. You can play Botany Bingo (finding some wicked wildflowers in the garden and answering questions about them) or make your own marvellous medicine plant potion. Perhaps you’d like to try to find – and draw – a mystery plant or solve the funky plant seed puzzle?
