Talk: Suffragette Voices – Recordings of Veterans Telling their Stories

November 22, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Antonia Raeburn’s “The Militant Suffragettes”, published in 1973, has been described as a ‘forgotten classic’.  It is the Suffragette story, told where possible in their words, taken from numerous personal recordings she made at the time. Much of the recorded material has remained unheard and Antonia will present it together with the contemporary relevant illustrations.

The talk takes place in the Market Hall, High Street, Amersham. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets cost £8 each or £6 each for Friends of the Museum and include a glass of wine. Please note that access to the Market Hall is only via a flight of stairs; there is no lift.
