SUMMARY:Talk - Potions\, plants and physic: more secrets of the museum garden
DESCRIPTION:£13 including wine or soft drink \nStep back in time to a world where plants were prized for their many medicinal virtues. SUMMARY:Guided Tudor Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join a guided Tudor Walk to learn about life – and death – in 16th century Amersham \n\nFood and drink\nMarkets and fairs\nBuildings and burgage plots\nClothing and work\nHealth and cures\nReligious beliefs and the Lollard martyrs\n\nThese walks are led by guides in Tudor costume and start from the museum at 2.30pm on the last Saturday in each month (April to September).  \nThe walk visits the church (weddings permitting!) then leaves the town and follows field paths. It includes a steady climb\, which is taken slowly. Baby buggies have successfully managed the route and we did once get a mobility buggy up the hill! Be warned\, if you pay for parking\, that the walk usually lasts about 2¼ hours. It is possible to take a short cut near the end\, which saves perhaps 15 minutes (most people don’t). \nWe strongly recommending booking your tickets in advance to guarantee your place on our walks. While we will do our best to accommodate people on the day\, places are subject to availability. \n  \nNotes\nIf you would like to visit the museum on the same day as your walk\, this is possible from 11:30am before the walk starts\, but there is not time after the walk finishes. \nIf you have queries about accessibility or routes\, please get in touch and we would be happy to provide you with detailed information. \nPlease make sure you have checked details before ordering tickets.
