Amersham Museum runs a monthly reminiscence group where we share our stories and memories from the past. These sessions are both stimulating and fun and give us the opportunity to meet new people. The sessions cost £2.00 per person and last for around an hour and always include tea or coffee and biscuits. The sessions are on Monday mornings from 10.30am to 11.30am.

Disover one of the most important architects in Amersham’s 20th century development, J H Kennard. Join this walk around Amersham-on-the-Hill and find out about the many projects undertaken by this arts & crafts architect. The walk starts outside Amersham station and lasts 1 ½ to 2 hours. Emerging from the beech wood, you will see Old Amersham spread out beneath you, with its medieval street plan surrounded by fields. Alison Bailey, a trustee of Amersham Museum, will be giving a talk on Arts and Crafts Architecture in Amersham and Chesham Bois. Alison has conducted extensive research on the Arts and Crafts style in the area and her talk will highlight the designs of local architect JH Kennard. The talk will he held in Chesham Bois Parish Centre, Glebe Way, Amersham HP6 5ND and will start at 8pm. Hunt the museum for creepy crawlies and learn about how we protect the museum’s collections from pest damage! Finish the trail by making a creepy crawly to take home.

£1 per child after usual admissions.

Decorate our 1930s and Georgian doll’s houses for Autumn; make wreaths, blankets, candles and prepare the fires and bonfire for an autumn celebration.
