SUMMARY:Art Workshop with Fiona Ryan-Watson
DESCRIPTION:Our craft workshops form part of the events programme linked to our Land Marks exhibition. Thanks to the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust for enabling us to offer these sessions at subsidised rates.  \nAs part of our Land Marks Exhibition\, we are offering a fun Art Workshop for Children celebrating the modern architecture of Amersham (the ‘Sun Houses’ designed by Connell and Ward in the 1930’s).  We will be inspired by Fiona Ryan-Watson’s painting “Amersham Rising” which will be on display as part of this Exhibition. \nWe will be using ‘magic sprinkle dust’ (brusho) to create a vibrant background and then designing a funky modern building to sit in the centre of the piece.  Each child will create their very own artwork to bring home.  This workshop will be led by local artist Fiona Ryan-Watson. \nFor children 6-10 years old.  \n  \nPlease make sure you have checked details before ordering tickets. It is necessary for the museum to charge a cancellation fee of £1 to cover credit card and administration costs.

SUMMARY:Reminiscence Group
DESCRIPTION:Join us at our monthly reminiscence group where we share our stories and memories from the past. Everyone is welcome\, whether you are a long time Amersham resident\, new to the area\, or simply interested in meeting new people. These sessions are sociable\, stimulating and fun. \nThe sessions are free and last for around an hour and always include tea\, coffee and biscuits. \nYou are very welcome to bring a family member\, friend or carer. The sessions are held in our first floor room\, but there is lift access. Please get in touch if you have any queries 01494 723700 or info@amershammuseum.org.

SUMMARY:Guided Tudor Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join a guided Tudor Walk to learn about life – and death – in 16th century Amersham \n\nFood and drink\nMarkets and fairs\nBuildings and burgage plots\nClothing and work\nHealth and cures\nReligious beliefs and the Lollard martyrs\n\nThese walks are led by guides in Tudor costume and start from the museum at 2.30pm on the last Saturday in each month (April to September).  \nThe walk visits the church (weddings permitting!) then leaves the town and follows field paths. It includes a steady climb\, which is taken slowly. Baby buggies have successfully managed the route and we did once get a mobility buggy up the hill! Be warned\, if you pay for parking\, that the walk usually lasts about 2¼ hours. \nWe strongly recommending booking your tickets in advance to guarantee your place on our walks. While we will do our best to accommodate people on the day\, places are subject to availability. \nNotes\nIf you would like to visit the museum on the same day as your walk\, this is possible from 12noon before the walk starts\, but there is not time after the walk finishes. \nIf you have queries about accessibility or routes\, please get in touch and we would be happy to provide you with detailed information. \nPlease make sure you have checked details before ordering tickets.
