Mindful Drawing for Beginners

A new art club for adults is starting at the Amersham Museum on Thursdays, 10am – 12pm, from 20th June until 18th July.

‘Learn to translate more accurately what your eye and brain is telling your hand, think of nothing else but what is in front of you and see what you will create. See the beauty in the world around us, develop the skills to capture it onto paper. Focusing on this alone naturally puts your brain into a meditative calm present state!’

The sessions are led by art teacher Karen Wyllie.

The cost is £12 per session or £50 for five sessions.

These walks tell you about life – and death – in Amersham in Tudor times; food and drink, work and housing, fairs and markets, sickness and cures, clothing, and ghosts and religious beliefs. Costumed guides will tell you about the Lollard martyrs as you visit some of the places relevant to their story. Note the walk includes a steady climb through fields to the martyrs memorial. Walks start at the museum and usually last about about 2¼ hours but can be shortened by request.

ART CLUB
We also run an after-school art club for children aged 7-11. The Chiltern Club of Arts Juniors runs in term-time and students will have a chance to learn about different types of art, local artists, and to try their hand at different art styles. Throughout the half-term students will work towards the Arts Award; a nationally recognised initiative from Arts Council England.

The next sessions start in September. Please contact [email protected] for more details.

Supported with investment from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Artswork, the South East Bridge.
