About this object This unusual photographic print comprises two identical images on a singular page forming a strange, almost disorienting, composition. Mother and son are pictured together, both smiling and in fine clothes.

For Anthony Duparc, then just a boy in uniform, school was a neither good nor bad, although he was excited to leave school aged 16 and a half to train as an accountant.

Growing-up he remembers that his father, Isaac, was a quintessential Victorian man - he couldn't recall a time when his father kissed him, although he was a loving parent.

He found physical affection in his mother Ursula; this playful photo illustrates Anthony and Ursula’s close mother-son relationship.
Physical Description Two identical black and white photos, one printed upside down of Anthony in school uniform and his mother Ursula Duparc with hat, coat and umbrella.
Inscription ‘9753’ (On recto, in pencil)
