Walk

 Woodland Walk

There is a very pleasant walk to Amersham Museum from Amersham-on-the-Hill from Amersham station through woods and fields.  The route is mostly on clear woodland paths, and it can be uneven and slippery in sections.  It finishes on a paved downhill pathway.  It takes about 20 minutes.

Turn left out of the station and in 20m turn left under the railway bridge.

Immediately cross the road and turn right along a footpath between houses and the railway embankment.  Walk along the path as it ascends and after the houses, turn half left to the brow the slope.  Follow the clear path through woods, staying parallel to the road.  Eventually the path descends and opens out into fields and slopes steeply down the hill to the Church.

Cross the churchyard and emerge onto the road.  Turn right and walk past Market Hall.

Amersham Museum is 150m further on, on the right.

Pavement Walk

Alternatively, from under the railway bridge, follow Station Road all the way downhill to Old Amersham.  Turn right at Tesco Superstore and follow the road along the Broadway to High Street and Amersham Museum.
