Create! Portrait Painting

Work with artist Katy Cook to paint portraits using oil pastels. Your work will be inspired by the museum’s recent acquisition of three paintings by Marie-Louise von Motesiczky. This session is for ages 5+ and booking required. There is a session in the morning, 10am-12 noon or in the afternoon 2pm-4pm. There are also sessions on Thursday 18th April. £4 per person (no admission to pay). Visit the museum this Easter weekend to see our fantastic new Mobile Museum, a vintage style vehicle packed full of stories about Amersham in the 20th century. On both days there will be lots of additional crafts, inspired by local 20th century artists, for people to join in.

Talk: The Importance of Honeybees

Meriet Duncan is a beekeeper, author and speaker.  She will be at the Amersham Museum to give a talk about the life cycle and importance of the honeybees.  She will also be explaining how much we, as a community, can learn from a thriving colony of honeybees. Portrait Painting, inspired by Marie-Louise von Motesiczky

May 3 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Work with an artist to create a work in oil pastels or acrylics inspired by the work of Austrian artist Marie-Louise von Motesiczky, who lived in Amersham in the 1940s and 1950s. The museum has recently acquired three of her paintings. Booking required: email emily@amershammuseum.org to reserve a place.  This session is FREE and is supported by the Marie-Louise von Motesiczky Charitable Trust.
