| About this object | Isaac Michael Duparc married Ursula Teleste Woodburn [nee Bamberger] at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue in St John's Wood on 9 October 1923. Both of their extended families were Orthodox Jews, but Ursula’s parents were founding members of the new Liberal Jewish movement which was founded in 1911. Isaac became their first secretary in 1919, a post he held for 48 years. Wedding announcement cards and a wedding invitation also form part of the museum’s Duparc collection. Ursula’s mother died about 10 days before their wedding, which may be the reason she is carrying white lilies, as a sign of mourning.§ |
| Physical Description | Black and white wedding photograph. Isaac is wearing a morning suit with top hat and buttonhole. Ursula is wearing a three-quarter length dress with matching shoes and hat. She is carrying a bouquet of white lilies. |
