| About this object | This miniature toy coach and horses was used in a production of Cinderella for a miniature theatre. It is part of an extensive collection including two full sets of dolls, staging, scenery, props, lighting and the wooden theatre itself held by Amersham Museum. These objects relate both to the Cinderella production and a later production of Ali Baba. The theatre was first owned by Malcolm Riach, and later by Oswald Brown, who lived at in Chestnut Lane with his family. His five children also played with the theatre and created the Ali Baba dolls and scripts. The Cinderella dolls were created by Malcolm Riach. |

| Physical Description | A miniature golden coach led by two grey dappled horses with white manes and tails, the coach is driven by a black hatted coachman with a second figure at the rear. The carriage itself is encrusted with several small red jewels along with some on the wheels. Inside the coach is a female passenger in a fine, pale pink dress. Each of the figures is a doll with china face and hands. They are dressed in handmade fabric clothing. The model is on a modern wooden stand with a metal pin. It is 16cm in height and 10.5cm wide. |
