After the successful inaugural golf day in 2019 we were delighted to repeat the event as a fundraising event for the Museum. This year we fielded 51 golfers and 65 sat down for dinner at Harewood Downs Golf Club. Using our mobile museum ‘Anthony’ as a reception venue, Jill Mace and Liz Lean manned the desk and checked everyone in for a 1pm start, and very successfully sold raffle tickets.
The golfers played an individual stableford competition and there were separate prizes for ladies, male visitors and Harewood members. The winners were visitors Pam Willis and Tim Wills and Harewood member John Hannacher. Harewood had kindly arranged for a ‘beat the pro’ competition on a par 3 hole to help raise money, and after prizegiving (and more raffle ticket sales!) the main raffle prize number was drawn and our museum Friend Peter Williams kindly ran an auction of 4 ball golf vouchers, a night for 2 at The Crown Hotel in Amersham, tickets to the Hockney exhibition at the RA and 3 watercolours paintings by a local artist.

We are extremely grateful for the generosity of those donors listed below. With these events and exceptional support for our raffle, the happy day resulted in raising funds very close to £4,000 towards the museum’s running costs – a tremendous result.
Thank you to all participants, donors (of cash, gifts and prizes) and diners who all contributed to such a successful day.
Stuart Jaggard, Gary Gotch and Stan Griffiths
