This is the third of 3 walks in this series, taking place in spring, summer and autumn. Each walk follows the same route, helping us to notice the seasonal changes as we progress through the year.  Note that the walk isn’t aimed specifically at families, but children are welcome if they have an interest in local wildlife and history, and would enjoy a walk packed full of information.”

Karen has a love of plants and the environment, and enjoys sharing this with others, through courses and guided walks. A Biology graduate of Oxford University with a Ph. D. in wheat genetics, Karen was Head of Education at Cambridge University Botanic Garden for several years, and has worked with people of many ages from diverse backgrounds.

These days, Karen works as an Associate Tutor for the Field Studies Council, writing and delivering introductory courses in Botany, and hosting school visits at FSC Amersham Field Centre. She volunteers with her local environment group, leading guided walks and overseeing a Pollinator-Friendly Garden and Community Orchard.  Karen also helps to coordinate the Central Chilterns Botany Group.

We strongly recommending booking your tickets in advance to guarantee your place on our walks. While we will do our best to accommodate people on the day, places are subject to availability.
