Rooted in the Land double bill film night
June 12 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
£10.00
Amersham Museum
£10 including wine or soft drink
Join us to enjoy two short films that provide an insight into Amersham’s past, inspired by our current Rooted in the Land exhibition. Excerpt from both films feature in the exhibition, but this is your chance to watch the full versions. Note that neither have sound tracks, but we expect that the audience reactions and reflections may compensate for this!
Controversial today, the Old Berkeley Hunt was a key part of local life for centuries. With the Old Berkeley Hunt documents the hounds, horses, foxes and riders in the early 1930s.
Starting with herding pigs and ending with enjoying sausages for tea, our 1950s promotional film for Brazil’s, provides a comprehensive account of the iconic Amersham meat company.
Content warning: these historical films include explicit scenes of butchery and fox hunting. Although the exhibition excerpts were edited to exclude the more explicit images, this screening will show all of the original footage.
Please make sure you have checked details before ordering tickets. It is necessary for the museum to charge a cancellation fee of £1 to cover credit card and administration costs.
