This summer holiday, kids and their families are invited to take part in a free activity at Amersham Museum. The Magic Faraway Tree Museum Adventure is a free spotter trail from Kids in Museums and Blyton Books celebrating Enid Blyton’s much loved children’s book series, which has recently inspired a hit family film.

Pick up a free activity sheet to take part at Amersham Museum. Each stop on the trail invites children and their families to explore some of the different worlds of the Magic Faraway Tree – from the Land of Topsy Turvy to the Land of Presents! Expect fun drawing and writing activities, plus prompts designed to spark conversations about what you’ve encountered in the museum. Complete the activity sheet to receive your Magic Faraway Tree Museum Adventure sticker! There’s also a special drawing competition. Share your artwork on Instagram or BlueSky with the hashtag #MFTAdventure and tag @kidsinmuseums for a chance to win brilliant prizes, including a Double National Art Pass Plus Kids courtesy of Art Fund, plus an Enid Blyton book bundle.

The activity will run from Saturday 25th July to Sunday 16th August 2026 (available during museum opening times)

“Visited Amersham museum yesterday – lovely place, provides many details on the history of the place. Plenty of cute cafes, pubs and shops around also… not difficult to find free parking nearby. ”

“A well-run, informative and interesting small museum on the main street. It’s mostly volunteer-run and they do a great job in keeping it and making you feel welcome…Check out the herb garden too.”

“Enjoyable film and television location guided walk around Amersham hosted by Amersham Museum – here are the Sun Houses on Highover Park and further up the hill is High & Over.”
