Our proximity to Pinewood Studios and the charm of Amersham and surrounding villages has made the area a popular location for the British Film Industry from the earliest days to the present.
Midsomer Murders & More is a four-mile circular guided walk, starting and finishing at Amersham Station, in which you will learn about:
- The earliest film – a silent comedy – made in the town in 1919
- The first and numerous other episodes of Midsomer Murders
- A 1960s Miss Marple film Murder at the Gallop
- A 1960s comedy about a real-life World War II hero, Passport of Courage
- The Oscar nominated Four Weddings and a Funeral
- Filming of My Cousin Rachel
- Numerous TV programmes including New Tricks, The Professionals, Young Morse, Line of Beauty, Cuckoo
- The idyllic setting for Midwich Cuckoos
- Filming at Amersham’s modernist house High & Over
- Amersham’s earliest cinema
