We’re getting in the festive mood!  As well as our own Christmas Shopping Weekend on 22 and 23 November, find us at the Amersham-on-the-Hill Christmas Festival on Saturday 29 November, with a stall inside St Michael and All Angels Church.  Our Art Club are also decorating a Christmas tree as part of the Church’s celebrations.  And Anthony the Mobile Museum will be playing his now-traditional role as Santa’s Grotto!

On Friday 5 December, we’ll be open late as part of Old Amersham’s Christmas event, with Anthony reprising his role providing a home for Father Christmas!

The Museum will open normal hours until Sunday 7 December, and then opens on the following weekend 13/14 December.  Our shop is open 12.30pm to 2.30pm on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 December for all your last-minute present needs!

Christmas at Amersham Museum Shop

We have all sorts of festive goodies in the shop available for you, including a huge range of cards, many of which feature designs by local artists of Amersham and the local area. We are also featuring some products from local makers, including unique decorations from lace and wood, stunning fused glass, chutneys, jams and marmalades, and knitted creations.

If you’re looking for something exclusive, our Amersham Museum Calendar features beautiful photos of the local area all by local photographers, members of Amersham Photographic Society.  We also have ranges produced by local artists including children’s jigsaws, tea towels and notelets inspired by local illustrator Elly Bazigos, and notelet sets by local artist Paul Chappell featuring his watercolours of the Museum and our beautiful garden.

Our exclusive jigsaws showing Amersham Old Town, and the Museum’s garden, make a great present. We also stock a full range of local history books, including our own publications about our herb garden, Women at War by Alison Bailey telling the fascinating stories of local women during the First World War period, and our new All Aboard to Amersham providing the history of the railway’s arrival in the area and the growth of Amersham-on-the-Hill.

We’ve also got gifts for gardeners, cooks, nature lovers, and (grand) children, with vintage-style toys for stocking fillers,  pencil cases, keyrings, coasters, teabag tidies and glasses cases

Our shop is open during Museum opening hours Wednesday to Sunday 12pm to 4.30pm up to 7th December and then the weekends of 13th/14th and 20th/21st December 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

“Enjoyable film and television location guided walk around Amersham hosted by Amersham Museum – here are the Sun Houses on Highover Park and further up the hill is High & Over.”
